Why some of our pages name no fabric at all

If a product page here does not name a fabric, that is deliberate. It means our supplier did not publish one for that style, and we would rather leave a gap than fill it with a guess.

Where the fibre content comes from

We do not weave anything ourselves. Each style arrives with a specification sheet from the supplier, and the fibre content on our product page is copied from that sheet. When the sheet says cotton, the page says cotton. When the sheet says polyester, the page says polyester.

Roughly a quarter of our styles arrive with no fibre content on the sheet at all. For those, the page tells you that instead of naming a fabric we cannot stand behind. You will see that sentence on the short sleeve collared top, among others. That page used to claim cotton in its title. The supplier sheet never said cotton, so we removed it.

The one where the sheet and the photographs disagree

Our supplier lists the material on this style as suede. Look at the photographs: the fabric has a bright two-tone metallic sheen that shifts as the sleeve moves. Suede does not do that. Suede is matte.

We could have printed suede because the sheet said so. Instead that page names no material at all, and says why. If you want the look, buy it for the look. Do not buy it because you were told it was leather.

What we will never write

• A percentage we were not given. Several styles list two or three fibres with no split between them. We name the fibres and stop there.
• A certification we do not hold. No organic claim, no OEKO-TEX, no mill name.
• A country of manufacture we cannot verify. We can tell you where your parcel ships from, and we do, on the delivery page.

How to use this when you shop

Read the fabric line on the page you are actually buying from, not the one you read last week. Two shirts that look similar in a grid can have completely different sheets behind them. And when the line is missing, take that as information rather than an oversight.
